When will construction on West 7th Street finish? Fort Worth estimates this summer
Construction on West 7th Street in Fort Worth has caused some congestion in recent weeks with cars shifted over to one lane on the Trinity River Bridge or moving around cones in the roadway.
The street improvements to West 7th started in May 2021 to improve bike lanes and traffic signals along the roadway.
What other improvements should be expected on West 7th Street?
Landscaped medians and protected bike lanes from Trinity River Bridge to University Drive, five upgraded traffic signals and two new traffic signals are included in the improvement project.
In a project presentation given in March 2021, city officials said the new traffic signals will reduce the distances between crosswalks for pedestrians and improve accessibility.
Sidewalks, pavement markings and signage are also part of the street improvements
When will construction be complete?
Street improvements on West 7th are expected to be complete this summer. According to the city website, July is when construction will be completed, but a definite date has not been announced.
During the project presentation, the initial start date was estimated to be around late March of last year, however construction had to wait until the completion of the White Settlement Bridge to allow for an alternative roadway to come to and from downtown.
At the time of the presentation, the initial estimated completion date was around January to February.
