Police are investigating a car accident that killed two people and closed the roadway in east Fort Worth on Saturday.

At about 7:30 p.m., police responded to a fatality accident in the 7300 block of East Lancaster Avenue, near Sandy Lane.

Two individuals were killed on the scene, and one person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, according to Officer Daniel Segura, a spokesman for the Fort Worth Police Department.

The individuals killed were identified as 19-year-old Lauren Richardson and 18-year-old Kennedy Thomas-Young, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police did not say what caused the accident.
