School workers can get freebies for National Teacher Appreciation Week. Here’s where.
National Teacher Appreciation week starts Monday, and so do special discounts and freebies for school workers.
Fort Worth-area teachers and school employees will find local businesses offering deals all week. Several national chains and businesses are offering goodies as well.
But if something homemade is more your style, the National Parent Teacher Association has free downloadable “thank you” cards and certificates you can print off or send to your favorite educator.
Here’s where teachers can find local and national deals.
Free drinks and snacks in Fort Worth
The nonprofit Read Fort Worth has partnered with a few coffee shops to provide free drinks and snacks. Teachers and district employees have to show their employee ID cards for free offers.
- Black Coffee Fort Worth is offering one free drink from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1417 Vaughn Blvd., Monday to Friday.
- Casa Azul Coffee has one free drink available from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 300 W. Central Ave., Monday and Tuesday.
- Cherry Coffee Shop plans to offer one free drink from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 1121 W. Magnolia Ave., Monday to Friday.
- Fort Worth Coffee Co. is providing one free drink and pastry from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 4731 Camp Bowie Blvd., Monday to Friday.
- HustleBlendz has one free drink from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1201 Evans Ave., Monday and Tuesday.
- Love Local Coffee and Art Shop offers one free drink from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 4612 Southwest Loop 820, Monday to Friday.
- Race Street Coffee plans to offer one free blueberry scone from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. , Monday to Friday.
Deals from national chains
- Whataburger is celebrating teachers by offering free weeklong breakfast items. The Texas favorite will donate $30,000 to schools across Whataburger’s communities as part of its annual WhataTeacher awards. Thirty teachers across 14 states will receive $1,000 each for their schools. Teachers can also get 25% off retail items in the Whatastore with the code “WHATATEACHER22”.
- At Barnes and Noble, teachers can save 20% off publishers’ list prices on purchases for classrooms, up to 25% off during educator appreciation days, and access to exclusive events.
- Michaels, the crafts retailer, is offering teachers 15% off in-store and online purchases. Teachers can save 15% at Jo-Ann Fabric stores if they sign up for a free rewards account.
- Blue Apron, the meal kit service, has a $110 coupon for one of its boxes available for teachers.
- Calm, a sleep and relaxation app, is offering free self-care guides or a discount on service for teachers.
