The North Central Texas Council of Governments is asking for the public’s help in naming a regional trail between downtown Fort Worth and downtown Dallas, opening in early 2024.

Local trails like Trinity, River Legacy and Campion will be connected to form a 66-mile walking and biking corridor. More than 50 miles of the trail are completed, connecting Fort Worth, Arlington, Grand Prairie, Irving and Dallas.

Since 2013, the five cities have partnered with the council to develop the trail network, which has been part of the region’s long-range transportation plan since the 1990s. Officials say it will bring health benefits, traffic reduction and recreational opportunities to a growing North Texas.

To provide your input, take the agency’s online survey, which launched April 25 and will be open for one month. You’ll be asked to weigh in on a trail name and logo options and provide feedback on trail destinations. The name and logo choices were developed through a virtual open house late last year.

The name and branding for the trail are expected to be finalized by this fall.
