Two people died in a crash involving a tow truck on I-35W early Monday morning, the Fort Worth Police Department said.

Two people died in a crash involving a tow truck on Interstate 35W early Monday morning, the Fort Worth Police Department said.

Police were sent to the crash at about 2:20 a.m. on the entrance ramp to northbound I-35 near U.S. 287.

A tow truck pulling an attached car and a passenger car had crashed, and two people were trapped inside the passenger car, police said in a news release.

The two people in the car were pronounced dead. They will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office after next of kin have been notified.

The ramp was closed early Monday morning as the Traffic Investigation Team investigated what happened, police said. The ramp opened back up by 8 a.m.
