At least one person is dead after a car crashed into a bridge on westbound Interstate 20 near Hemphill Street on Tuesday night in south Fort Worth, according to MedStar.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. when police said the car was traveling westbound and went off the road and hit a bridge pillar. One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for MedStar said another person was in critical condition after the crash caused the occupants of the car to become trapped inside.

Police did not say what they think may have caused the vehicle to go off the road. They were in the area responding to a call of a hit and run that is not immediately believed to be related.

Another fatal crash occurred about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 35 in Burleson, according to MedStar. A vehicle rolled over, killing one person and leaving another in critical condition.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man who died in the Burleson crash as Devin Wurzbach-Trammell, 28, of Alvarado.
