Man killed in Fort Worth motorcycle accident Monday night, police say

Fort Worth police responded to a fatal motorcycle crash Monday night on the North Freeway Service Road southbound.

The crash happened at about 10:55 p.m. Police said a motorcycle failed to slow down when approaching a curb, striking it and leaving the roadway. The motorcycle went down the embankment and struck it before going back uphill.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. He was traveling ahead of another motorcycle. The other motorcyclist and the driver of a passenger vehicle sustained minor injuries, police said.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man who died as Erik Castaneda, 43, of Carrollton.

The Fort Worth Police Department’s Traffic Investigation Unit detectives investigated.
