Driver dies after vehicle rollover on East Loop 820, Fort Worth police say

One man died Wednesday after a vehicle rolled over on East Loop 820 in the area of Wilbarger Street in southeast Fort Worth, police said.

A spokesman for MedStar said the driver, an adult male, was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he died.

The name of the driver will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office after next of kin has been notified.

Images from the scene appear to show a white vehicle, possibly a pickup truck or SUV, rolled upside down on the service road of East Loop 820. The Texas Department of Transportation traffic cameras showed southbound traffic backed up at least to Ramey Avenue at 7:25 p.m. Police said it could take more than an hour for lanes to reopen.

Police are investigating the incident.
