The Fort Worth City Council will vote on two measures that would add approximately 182 acres to the far northern and southern reaches of the city.

Burleson-based Shipman Companies is requesting the city annex 116.77 acres south of Dublin Ridge Drive and east of Old Cleburne Crowley Junction for a housing development. It is not clear how many houses would be built, but a city report estimates the land could generate as much as $2 million in property tax revenue over 10 years after the land is developed.

It’s also not clear whether these homes would be for purchase or for rent. On its website, Shipman lists about 12 rental properties including townhomes, apartments, and single family homes ranging from $1,250 to $1,895 per month.

AIL West Investment is requesting the city annex 65.305 acres northwest of Alliance Airport and that the area be rezoned for heavy industry.

Once this land is developed, the city estimates it could bring in $3.6 million in property tax revenue over the next 10 years.

Both annexations and rezoning cases will be voted on by the City Council at its regularly scheduled zoning meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
