Four men slain in separate shootings in Fort Worth, police say; two others also shot
Four men were killed and two other people were injured in shootings in Fort Worth at five locations and times on Sunday and early Monday, authorities said.
Police did not announce arrests in the killings.
Joshua Balcazar, 18, was slain in the 1700 block of Kachina Lodge Road, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Balcazar, who lived in Fort Worth, was found about 1:15 a.m. inside of a vehicle in the 7100 block of Cloudcraft Lane in north Fort Worth. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition and died there.
About 10 minutes earlier, in the 9000 block of Camp Bowie West Boulevard in west Fort Worth, a 911 caller reported hearing an argument behind a business and then nine shots, according to a police call log.
When they arrived, police found a man who had been shot. He was taken in critical condition to a hospital.
There were three homicides in the city on Sunday. In the last, about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Isaiah Torres, 24, was pronounced dead on his front porch in the 4900 block of Collett Little Road in south Fort Worth, according to the medical examiner’s office.
An assailant firing from a vehicle shot a man to death in the front yard of a northwest Fort Worth house on Sunday evening, police said.
Evidio Rodriguez, 69, of Fort Worth, was fired upon about 6:15 p.m. in the 3700 block of Lebow Street, according to the medical examiner’s office. A female victim who also was shot was taken to a hospital, Fort Worth police said. A police spokesperson did not describe her condition, and a MedStar spokesperson declined to release it.
The body of a 53-year-old man, Albert Demerson III, who had been shot to death was found on Sunday morning inside of a car parked in a field in the 4500 block of Miller Avenue in south Fort Worth, authorities said.
A person reported about 11:30 a.m. to police that he saw the body in the car.
