Man shot multiple times at Fort Worth apartment
A late-night argument in an apartment left one man with multiple gunshot wounds and another man in custody Tuesday, police said.
Authorities were searching for a second suspect.
The victim, in his early 20s, was in surgery late Tuesday after patrol officers found him in the apartment complex. He suffered serious injuries but was expected to live, police said.
Patrol officers were at the apartment complex in the 2900 block of South Freeway on an unrelated call when they heard several gunshots at about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday.
Officers saw two men leave the complex, and managed to detain one of them after a brief foot chase. The other man got away.
As some officers chased the suspects, other patrol officers found the victim who had been shot.
“The victim and the two males are known to each other and some type of argument occurred inside the apartment prior to the shooting,” police Sgt. Steve Enright said in an email Wednesday.
Detectives continued to investigate.
