This Fort Worth hospital broke a record in August. It had nothing to do with COVID.
Fort Worth’s Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center set a record in August, delivering 581 babies in the middle of a global pandemic.
The hospital delivered an average of 19 babies each day, including 13 sets of multiple babies, according to a news release
All Saints Medical Center President Mike Sanborn said no matter how many babies are born, the hospital aims to make it a special moment for the family.
“Across Baylor Scott & White, our dedicated women’s health teams have delivered a million first moments, and our role is to make each one of those moments as special as the family who is welcoming their newborn,” Sanborn said in the release.
The hospital delivered a total 297 boys and 284 girls, according to the release. Here are some of the daily highs:
▪ Most babies born in a 24-hour period: 32
▪ Most boys delivered in one day: 18
▪ Most girls delivered in one day: 14
Eli and Carter tied for the most popular name for boys while Isabella was the sole winner among girl names.
The hospital has a gallery of the newborns on the website in the Tiniest Texans 2020 gallery.
The babies were delivered at the All Saints Medical Center’s Andrews Women’s Hospital, the only hospital in Fort Worth specifically for women. They deliver around 6,000 babies annually, more than any other facility in Tarrant County, according to the release.
