Fort Worth’s Mayor Price wants to see more women serving on boards and commissions

Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price will announce a initiative to increase the number of women serving on boards and commissions.

Price’s office has partnered with Kansas City-based nonprofit the Women’s Foundation, which since 2014 through its Appointments Project has worked increase the number of women in leadership roles. Appointments Project has successfully placed 130 women on boards and commissions, including 28% women of color in 2019. Fort Worth is the organization’s first partnership in an effort to expand across the country.

Price will make an virtual announcement about the project 9:30 a.m. Monday withe CEO Wendy Doyle.

The mayor’s office did not respond to a question regarding similar efforts for racial diversity.
