Man dies after being shot multiple times at Fort Worth apartment complex, police say
A 35-year-old man died early Friday after being shot multiple times at an apartment complex in southwest Fort Worth, police said.
The man was driven to John Peter Smith Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Fort Worth patrol officers converged on the scene of the shooting in the 6300 block of Woodway Drive, but no arrests had been made.
Officials with the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office had not released the name of the victim, but a police report identified him as Marcus Samuels of Forest Hill.
Initially, Fort Worth police were dispatched to the hospital shortly before 12:15 a.m. on a shooting call. The victim had been driven to the hospital in a private vehicle.
A witness who had driven the victim to the hospital directed police to the shooting scene at the Red Oak Apartments.
Police did not release any other details on the gunman or a motive for the shooting.
Homicide detectives are investigating the case.
