Woman critically injured in Fort Worth road rage shooting, police say
A woman was shot and critically injured during a road rage incident in south Fort Worth late Tuesday night that began with a two-vehicle crash, police said.
The two male drivers reportedly got out of their cars near the intersection of Meadow Creek Drive and Sycamore School Road and began fighting. One of the men then fired a gun, striking the woman, police said.
Both of the men were detained, and detectives were interviewing them on Wednesday, police said.
The department didn’t release an update on the woman’s condition as of Wednesday afternoon. It’s unclear if she was a passenger in one of the vehicles.
Officers responded to the scene around 11:35 p.m. Tuesday night following a report of shots fired, police said. They found the woman, police said, and she was transported to a hospital.
A preliminary investigation led police to determine the two men appeared to have been involved in a fight.
