North Texas man gets life and 370 years for recording molestation of girl, child porn

An Aledo man who repeatedly molested a 9-year-old girl and recorded it was sentenced to life without parole and 370 years in prison by a judge in Parker County.

Testimony in the case also showed that Billy Ryan Devenport, 36, had the girl use methamphetamine, marijuana and alcohol.

Devenport was sentenced on Tuesday by State District Judge Graham Quisenberry after Devenport pleaded guilty in December to the charges of continuous sexual abuse of a young child, 17 counts of child pornography, 10 counts of promotion of child pornography and possess of methamphetamine.

Devenport had elected to have the judge assess his sentence.

“Mr Devenport was among the worst of the child sexual abuse cases that I have seen,” said Parker County Assistant District Attorney Jeff Swain, who prosecuted the case.

An investigation began in December 2018 when investigator Josh Pitman received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children from Google officials that a person had uploaded suspected images of child pornography.

Pitman tracked the account to an Aledo address.

Swain noted under Texas law the life sentence was to be served without parole, but in case legislators changed parole rules the other sentences are stacked on top of the life sentence.
