How to get a free ride from downtown Fort Worth to the Cowtown Marathon starting line
Cowtown runners can travel between downtown and the starting line for free and without the hassle of finding parking.
Trinity Metro, Fort Worth’s bus service, will offer free rides to 2020 Cowtown runners and guests starting Friday morning.
Buses with “The Dash” on their exterior digital displays will pick up at the downtown hotels, including the Courtyard, Embassy Suites, Worthington Renaissance, Omni Fort Worth and the Sheraton.
The bus will run on part of the Dash’s normal route, circulating downtown before heading down West Seventh Street. The bus will take a left on Currie to pass through the West 7th bar and restaurant district before going down Lancaster to the Will Rogers complex. The bus returns to downtown via Camp Bowie Boulevard and West Seventh.
The route includes stops near T&P Station and at Fort Worth Central Station where TEXRail and TRE train service is available.
Free rides are available through Sunday, including service to the 2020 Cowtown Health & Fitness Expo. The Expo, which is 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday is at Will Rogers Memorial Center in the Amon G. Carter Jr. Exhibits Hall.
The 5K and 10K races are on Saturday, and the half marathon and full marathon are on Sunday. They start and finish at Will Rogers Memorial Center.
