1 killed, 2 seriously injured in head-on crash in south Fort Worth, police say
One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a head-on crash in Fort Worth involving a vehicle that swerved into oncoming traffic Monday night, police said.
Russell Alan Grossman, 67, of Fort Worth, was killed in the accident, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office website. He was inside the vehicle that was struck head-on, according to Officer Bradley Perez, a Fort Worth police spokesman.
The two people who were injured were inside the vehicle that went into oncoming traffic, he said. One of them was in critical condition and the other was in serious condition, according to a MedStar spokesman. It wasn’t clear which of them was driving.
Perez said Tuesday “we will not receive any formal charges until the investigation is complete.”
“This may take some time,” he said, “due to injuries sustained by the suspect.”
The crash occurred shortly before 9 p.m. Monday in the 7600 block of Crowley Road, police said. The suspect’s vehicle was reportedly traveling south on Crowley Road when it veered left into oncoming traffic, striking the other vehicle head-on, police said.
Grossman was pronounced dead at the scene, Perez said.
The two people who sustained serious injuries were transported to a hospital, he said.
