This development will bring more retail, restaurants, apartments to south Fort Worth

Construction for a mixed-use development in south Fort Worth is underway.

Southgate Marketplace, a development at the southeast corner of Rendon Crowley Road and Interstate 35, will bring a variety of stores and restaurants, a hotel and apartments with approximately 240 units.

According to the site plan, eight businesses have already signed on to move into the development, including Chipotle, Jersey Mikes, Panera, Cheddar’s and Navy Federal Credit Union.

One of the first buildings that will open, though, will be the ones that house the Starbucks and the Aspen Dental office, according to the construction plans filed with the city.

Vista Property Company is the developer for Southgate Marketplace. Construction of phase one of the development is set to be completed this year.
