Fort Worth police looking for phone store robber

A man who robbed a Metro PCS store at gunpoint earlier this month dropped most of his haul while he was headed out of the back door.

The suspect walked into the Metro PCS store located in the 2200 block of West Berry Street about 12:15 p.m. on June 6 and ordered the three employees there into a back room, a police report said. No customers were in the store at the time of the robbery, according to the report.

A male employee was told to lie on the floor while two female employees, one who was eight months pregnant, were forced to load up a nylon bag and a clear plastic garbage bag with only the Apple iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6 phones, according to the report.

During the robbery, a delivery man knocked on the door where the gunman was holding the employees and the gunman ordered an employee to unlock the rear door, the report said.

The gunman fled out of the rear door and was last seen running south in the alley behind the store, the report said. As he escaped the clear garbage bag ripped open and the suspect dropped an unknown number of phones in the alley behind the store, which were returned to the owner, the report said.

The suspect is thought to be between 17 to 25 years old, 5-feet, 6-inches, to 5-feet, 8-inches tall, with a stocky, muscular build. He was wearing a ski mask, gold-rimmed aviator sunglasses, a dark blue, hooded jacket with sweat pants and white tennis shoes.

The suspect is known to drive a light gray or gray ‘newer’ model four-door Ford Fusion, which is missing the front license plate.
