Fort Worth firefighter seriously injured after being hit by car while working accident

A Fort Worth firefighter arriving at the scene of a traffic accident at Texas 114 and Interstate 35W was seriously injured Tuesday morning after she was hit by a vehicle, authorities said.

The firefighter was struck as she was exiting a fire truck, a fire official said.

She was taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Grapevine with serious injuries.

Fire officials did not release the name of the firefighter.

The vehicle that hit her stopped immediately after the accident, authorities said.

Firefighters and police were responding to an accident about 6 a.m. at Texas 114 and Interstate 35W in far north Fort Worth.

Two vehicles were involved in that rollover accident, according to a police call log. Two people suffered minor injuries in the accident, according to a MedStar official.

An investigation was underway.
