Suspected drunk driver hits off-duty Fort Worth officer on motorcycle
A 44-year-old man was arrested early Thursday morning on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after he struck a Fort Worth officer riding a motorcycle home after work.
The collision occurred shortly after 2 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the 3400 block of North Freeway.
Cpl. Tracey Knight, a police spokeswoman, said the officer was driving home after his work shift when a vehicle bumped his motorcycle, knocking him off.
The officer was taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He has been with the department since August 2008 and is a patrol officer in the central division.
The driver, Thai Tran Binh, was arrested on the scene.
