Tarrant religious, civic leaders join for prayer service for New Zealand victims

Islamic, Jewish and Christian leaders will join civic leaders, including Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price and Fort Worth Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald, for an interfaith prayer service Sunday for the victims of the New Zealand mosque shootings.

The service, called Joining Hearts and Hands, Community Prayer for the Victims in New Zealand, is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Islamic Association of Tarrant County, 4901 Diaz Ave.

The service will be followed by conversation and refreshments. Attendees are asked to dress modestly, with covered legs and no sleeveless tops. Headscarves are optional.
