8-year-old girl wounded in drive-by shooting in Fort Worth residential neighborhood

An 8-year-old girl was wounded Tuesday night in a drive-by shooting in a residential neighborhood, police said.

The girl, whom police did not identify, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police continued to search for the shooter on Wednesday.

Police responded to the shooting call shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 3400 block of Wayland Drive.

Officers reported a truck drove by a home and fired one shot into the residence, wounding the girl who was inside.

No other injuries were reported and police did not release any information on a motive for the shooting.
