Police seek this unidentified man in an assault they say happened at Texas Republic on Thanksgiving.

Fort Worth police are looking for a suspect they say attacked a fellow patron at a bar in the West 7th District after being accused of stealing an electronic cigarette.

The incident happened at about 2:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day at Texas Republic at 945 Foch Street, police said.

The man denied stealing the e-cigarette and attacked his accuser with “a cutting instrument believed to be a box cutter,” police spokesman Bradley Perez said.

“Possibly during the assault,” the suspect lost one of his white Adidas shoes, Perez said.

Perez said the suspect injured the victim seriously enough to warrant the charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The suspect is a thin white man, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall, with dark hair and a trimmed beard. He was wearing dark pants and a white t-shirt, a dark-colored jacket, a gray hoodie and white sneakers, police said.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call 817-392-4742.
