Puppy-napper tries to make getaway, but Fort Worth shelter worker gets in his way

An animal shelter worker stopped a man from stealing a puppy on Wednesday morning from a Fort Worth adoption center.

According to police, a man walked into the Humane Society of North Texas adoption center in Fort Worth, took a puppy and walked out of the store.

A 19-year-old worker saw the man walk out with Summer the puppy and knew something was wrong, our partners at WFAA reported.

Survelliance footage shows a man walking into the store and leave with a puppy in his arms.

Blaise Hull chased the dognapper out of the store to the bus stop.

Hull confronted the man, trying to retrieve the 8-week-old puppy, WFAA reported. During the scuffle, Hull was thrown to the ground but eventually managed to get Summer away from the man.

Summer was unharmed and waiting to be taken home by her family, who adopted her Tuesday.
