ICE operation leads to arrests of almost 100 people in North Texas, Oklahoma
During a 10 day operation, officials with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 98 people in North Texas and Oklahoma.
Of those arrests, 11 were in Dallas and five in Fort Worth.
There were nine arrests in Lubbock; six in Irving; four in Gilmer and Pampa; and three in Denton, Frisco and McKinney.
There were two arrests in the each of the following cities: Amarillo, Arlington, Jacksboro, Lewisville, Longview, Mesquite, Palestine, Perryton, Plainview, San Angelo and Sherman.
One person was arrested in each of the cities of Athens, Big Spring, Bridgeport, Canton, Carrollton, Garland, Grapevine, Greenville, Haltom City, Haslett, Hawley, Kaufman, Plano, Sache, Tyler, Wichita Falls and White Oak.
Those arrested are from the countries of Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Marshall Islands, Pakistan and Peru.
According to ICE, most of the people targeted during the operation “had prior criminal histories that including convictions of alien smuggling, assault, burglary, dangerous drugs, discharge of a firearm, domestic violence, driving under the influence, drug trafficking, fraud, illegal entry, hit & run, homicide, larceny, lewd or lascivious acts with a minor, marijuana possession, possessing a weapon, probation violation, resisting officer, sex assault, sex offense, sex offense against a child, traffic offense and trespassing.”
“Five confirmed and documented gang members were also arrested during this operation,” the department said.
