Police are investigating a shooting that left one man severely wounded on Thursday.

Police responded to a shooting call about 1:35 p.m. in the 3800 block of Raphael Drive and saw a man about 40 lying on the ground. The man was suffering with gunshot wounds to the right shoulder and left thigh, police said.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition, but was expected to survive, according to emergency medical personnel.

Police are still investigating.
