A suspect who pointed a gun at his head during a traffic stop and then led White Settlement police on a chase was shot by a police officer.

The suspect, driving a red Ford truck, was stopped by a White Settlement city marshal about 12:15 p.m., said Lt. Tim Denison, White Settlement police spokesman.

During questioning the suspect, who was found to have warrants, put the gun to his head, got back into his truck and drove off.

There was a 15-minute pursuit through White Settlement and Fort Worth that ended on Park Meadow Drive, Denison said at a news briefing.

By that time White Settlement police officers were on the scene. The suspect again pointed the gun to his head.

An officer fired at the suspect, striking him at least once, Denison said. He was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in critical condition.
