Police in Fort Worth were led on a high-speed chase by two suspects on Thursday morning that ended in a burst of flames in the Hurst area.

Officers were dispatched to the Walmart store at 3851 Airport Freeway in Fort Worth on a theft report about 4 a.m., Fort Worth police spokesman Jimmy Pollozani said via email.

He said two adult males attempted to commit felony theft at the store and then fled in a vehicle.

The suspects led police on a high-speed chase along Texas 121 toward Hurst, where they wrecked the vehicle they were in near the exit ramp to Norwood Drive and it caught fire.

Both suspects were transported to local hospitals to be evaluated. Pollozani said once the two men are released from the hospital they will be facing felony theft and evading arrest charges.
