Man dies in travel-trailer fire in Haslet
An elderly man was killed in a fire in a travel trailer early Friday in Haslet, officials say.
The fire was reported by a passer-by at 2:47 a.m. in the 11800 block of Business 287 North, Haslet Fire Chief Kirt Mays said.
Mays said that the location is a carnival ride repair and storage business and that some workers live on the property.
Firefighters found the travel trailer half-consumed in flames. Mays said firefighters were waking up and alerting other workers when they were informed that a man stayed inside the travel trailer.
They found the body inside the door. His name and the cause of death had not been released.
The Tarrant County fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire, Mays said, but it did not appear to be the result of overnight storms.
