Three face capital murder charges in Fort Worth motel slaying
A man and two women face capital murder charges in the fatal shooting of a man who had tried to intervene in a robbery at an east Fort Worth motel Saturday, police said Thursday.
Rickey Lewis, 27, was shot at the Central Motel in the 5800 block of East Lancaster Avenue. Officers who were called about 2:20 a.m. found his body on the ground in front of a room.
He was fatally shot in the head, the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office reported.
Anthony R. Barrow, 23, Brenna Shoen-Anderson, 17, and Megan Smith, 21, were arrested Tuesday on capital murder warrants, homicide Sgt. Joe Loughman said.
Investigators believe the three had just robbed a woman outside a motel room when Lewis tried to intervene and was shot.
The three suspects were in the Mansfield jail Thursday. Bail for Smith and Shoen-Anderson was set at $500,000; Barrow’s was set at $1 million, jail records show.
