A security guard was wounded early Sunday in a drive-by shooting after a disturbance at a fast-food restaurant, police said.

At least three shots were fired during the incident at the Whatabuger on Beach Street. just north of Airport Freeway.

A search continued Sunday for the gunman.

Police responded to the shooting call shortly before 4 a.m. at 955 N. Beach Street.

A caller told police everyone was on the ground.

Detectives say they believe there was a disturbance at the location and the guard was shot during a drive-by.

The guard who suffered a gunshot wound to his arm drove himself to a local hospital.

No other injuries were reported in the shooting.

The restaurant was open Sunday morning after being closed for a short time afterward.
