A pilot suffered minor injuries Sunday afternoon when he was forced to land his airplane in an east Fort Worth field, officials said.

The pilot, who was not identified, landed the small aircraft shortly before 1:30 p.m. Sunday in a field near Loop 820 and Trinity Boulevard.

No vehicles or structures were hit during the landing.

The pilot had been flying around Tarrant County towing a Geico insurance banner when he began to have problems, officials said.

He reportedly lost oil pressure, FAA spokesman Lynn Lunsford said Sunday in a telephone interview.
