How pointing a BB gun got this man arrested
A young man was arrested Tuesday morning after getting into an argument with another person and pointing a gun at him, police said.
Turned out that weapon was a BB gun, police said.
But the victim and a witness were not aware of that.
The incident occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. at a gas station in north Fort Worth.
A preliminary investigation revealed there was an argument between two men at the gas station. One pulled a handgun and pointed it. A witness later told officers he saw the suspect pointing a gun.
At some point, the suspect got into his sport utility vehicle and drove away. The victim jumped into his vehicle and started following the SUV.
The victim alerted police, giving officers a description of the SUV and a license plate number.
The victim followed the suspect until police arrived and stopped both vehicles in the 2700 block of Northern Cross Boulevard.
The suspect admitted to police he had a replica of a gun, which turned out to be a BB gun. He had it inside his SUV.
Officers collected the BB gun and took the young man, whom they declined to identify, into custody. The suspect faces a charge of terroristic threat, police said.
