He fatally shot his brother-in-law, then vanished, police say. Have you seen this man?

Police are seeking the public's help in locating a 24-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting his brother-in-law late last month.

Investigators suspect a long-simmering family dispute may have prompted Wenceslao Arriaga to shoot his sister's husband, 32-year-old Emmanuel Reyes, according to Fort Worth homicide Detective E. C. Pate

The suspect's father told homicide Detective Jerry Cedillo that his son had called him about 3 p.m. on Jan. 27, admitting what he had done.

The family has not heard from Arriaga since that call, Pate said, and investigators fear Arriaga may have since fled to Mexico.

A motorist called 911 shortly after 3 p.m. on Jan. 27, saying he had witnessed a man shooting into a parked vehicle in the 2900 block of N.W. Loraine.

Responding officers found Reyes dead inside the driver's seat of a Ford Sport Trac.

A passenger who had been with Reyes told police that he and Reyes had just arrived at the home on Loraine after working to find a white van parked in the driveway. Workers frequently met at the address to carpool together to jobs, Pate said.

The passenger told police that Arriaga exited the van's driver's seat, walked up to their Sport Trac, and fired at Reyes through the passenger window.

The passenger said he fled out of the truck and ran inside the house. When he came back out, he told police, the white van was gone.

Police have since obtained a murder warrant for Arriaga.
