Police are trying to determine what caused a crash in north Fort Worth in which a man was ejected from his vehicle and killed.

The wreck occurred shortly after 12:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 3800 block of Northeast 28th Street at North Beach Street, according to authorities.

The preliminary investigation showed that a white Chevrolet Colorado pickup traveling south on Beach Street failed to stop at the red light and was struck by a Pontiac G6.

When emergency personnel arrived they found a man who had been ejected pinned beneath the front of his truck, and he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Pontiac driver was taken to a downtown hospital, police said.

Fort Worth police officers continued to investigate.
