A suspect is in custody after he led officers from the Fort Worth Police Department on a high-speed chase on Interstate 20 into Dallas on Monday evening.

Fort Worth police spokesman Bradley Perez said that the SUV was being driven by 31-year-old Zachery Medina of Fort Worth.

Perez said the SUV was reported stolen on Monday morning by a family member of Medina's. On Monday evening police officers reported that Medina failed to yield during an attempted traffic stop and the pursuit began in the area of I-20 and Crowley Road.

Perez said that Medina had an outstanding warrant for a parole violation stemming from a drug charge when he was arrested for having between 1 and 4 grams of methamphetamine in July 2016.

The chase led police east on I-20 into Dallas County and then south on I-35E into Ellis County before they were able to get Medina to pull over onto the median where officers were able to place him under arrest around 5:40 p.m.

No additional details have been made available.
