Traffic citation issued against motorist involved in fatal Fort Worth motorcycle crash
A truck driver received a citation for unsafe driving that led to a fatal crash earlier this month that killed a Hurst motorcyclist on a city street, according to police reports.
A citation for unsafe movement was issued to Francis Long, 54, of Fort Worth, for the Jan. 6 wreck that killed 48-year-old Robert Olin Steen.
Steen, a local plumber, died at John Peter Smith Hospital shortly after the crash, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's office.
The crash was reported about 6:30 p.m. Jan. 6 in the 2900 block of White Settlement Road.
Long was driving a pickup pulling a trailer eastbound on White Settlement Road when he approached Adrian Drive and began making a U-turn in an attempt to head west, according to the reports.
Steen was traveling east on White Settlement Road when his motorcycle collided with the trailer, the report states.
No other injuries were reported.
