Pedestrian killed on highway in Denton traffic crash
A pedestrian was killed Monday night after being hit by a car that veered off Interstate 35E, police said.
Police had not determined why the pedestrian was on the highway. The name of the victim had not been released as of Tuesday morning, pending notification of relatives.
The accident was reported about 11:30 p.m. Monday in the 4000 block of Interstate 35E.
Witnesses reported a 2004 Infinity G35 was northbound on the highway when the driver lost control of the car and the vehicle veered off the highway, crossed the northbound lanes of a service road and stopped in a grassy area in front of a business.
The pedestrian was hit when the vehicle veered off the highway, police said.
The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.
