At least six residents were injured Thursday morning when a ceiling collapsed in a Fort Worth apartment, authorities said.

One person was expected to be taken to a local hospital and five others suffered minor injuries, fire officials said.

Firefighters responded to a rescue call about 8:30 a.m. in the 3100 block of Sappington Place.

"People were in a living room when the sheet rock came down from the ceiling," firefighter Kyle Clay said Thursday in a telephone interview. "There must have been four to six sheets that came down all at once."

No major injuries were reported in the accident.
