A 57-year-old Japan resident died Tuesday morning in a local hospital from injuries he suffered Thanksgiving morning, authorities said.
The victim was identified as Takahiko Ichikawa, who died at 6:28 a.m. Tuesday at John Peter Smith Hospital, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's office website on Tuesday. A ruling on his death is pending an autopsy.

Patrol officers responded to a call reporting an automobile hit a pedestrian shortly after 5:30 a.m. Thanksgiving morning in the 700 block of Leisure Drive.
A motorist told police he was on a curve in the street in a dark area when he saw two men walking in the street.
One of the men jumped into a ditch to avoid being hit, police said.
The other man, later identified as Ichikawa, did not move and he was hit by the vehicle, police said.
