Fort Worth police investigating death of 19-month-old boy
An investigation is underway into the Tuesday night death of a 19-month-old child who was rushed to a hospital after being found injured, police said.
No one has been arrested in the case.
The toddler was identified as Armando Soto, 1, of Fort Worth, by the Tarrant County medical examiner's website. A ruling on his death is pending an autopsy. His birthdate is listed as April 7, 2016.
Armando was pronounced dead at 10:21 p.m. Tuesday at Cook Children's Medical Center, according to the medical examiner's website.
Patrol officers were dispatched to the hospital Tuesday night after being alerted to an injured child.
"CACU (Crimes against children) detectives were contacted due to the injures, head trauma," Officer Daniel Segura said in a Wednesday email.
Detectives then relocated to the family's Fort Worth apartment and continued the investigation.
