Mineral Wells girl who died in Fort Worth crash is mourned
Friends and relatives are mourning the death Sunday evening of a 10-year-old Mineral Wells girl who was killed in a car crash in Fort Worth.
A GoFundMe account set up for Caydence Hubble describes the fifth-grader as "such a positive light" and noted her love of softball.
"She worked hard and loved life," according to the GoFundMe page.
Caydence was ejected from the vehicle she was riding in during a crash in northern Tarrant County, Fort Worth police said.
On social media, friends shared kind words about the girl, including one person who wrote, "Caydence was legitimately the coolest 10 year old I had ever met."
In a post on Facebook, a representative of the Mineral Wells school district, expressed condolences and said counseling is being made available to Caydence's classmates and teachers.
On Monday afternoon, Fort Worth police spokesman Daniel Segura gave more details on the fatal accident.
Segura said that based on witness statements taken at the scene, the vehicle Caydence was traveling in ran a red light around 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the 2800 block of Golden Triangle Boulevard. The vehicle was clipped by another vehicle, causing it to roll over.
Caydence was ejected from the vehicle, Segura said, and a second child suffered minor injuries.
The Tarrant County medical examiner's office identified Caydence as the victim who died. Segura said it is unclear who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.
