A bandit armed with a handgun robbed an employee at St. Andrew Catholic School Monday morning before students arrived, authorities said.

No injuries were reported.

The holdup was reported shortly after 6 a.m. at the Catholic school in the 3300 block of Dryden Road.

An armed man walked up to a maintenance employee who was sitting on one of the riding lawn mowers in a maintenance shed and demanded his wallet, police said.

The suspect took the employee’s wallet and cell phone, then fled the scene.

The cell phone and wallet were recovered, but the cash in the wallet was taken, police said.
