Man hit by train in Fort Worth loses leg
A man hit by a train Sunday morning lost his leg, authorities reported.
His leg was amputated by a train at 9:55 a.m. at the intersection of East Vickery Boulevard and New York Avenue, said Sgt. Daniel Segura, a police spokesman.
He was struck by a Norfolk Southern freight train while walking on the tracks, Star-Telegram media partner WFAA reported.
An ambulance took him to John Peter Smith Hospital with critical but not life-threatening injuries at 10:17 a.m., MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said. —Monica S. Nagy
