Robber punched clerk after taking cash, Fort Worth police say
A robber punched a clerk in the face Tuesday night after grabbing cash from a south Fort Worth smoke shop, police reported Thursday.
The robbery was shortly before 11 p.m. at the Smoke Zone, a tobacco store in the 7000 block of McCart Avenue.
Security video shows a 21-year-old female employee sitting or squatting on the floor at 10:53 p.m. when she appears to be struck on the right side of her head, toppling her onto the tile.
The robber appeared to be directing the woman around the store.
“The man attacked and punched a female employee in the face even after the employee was compliant with the suspect’s demands,” according to a news release from Fort Worth police.
The woman was treated at the scene, a police spokeswoman said. On Thursday, another store employee said the woman was not seriously injured.
The robber didn’t show any weapons, but police consider him to be dangerous.
He is black, age 28 to 35, 5 feet 10 to 6 feet, about 200 pounds with arm tattoos. He wore a blue-and-white striped polo-style shirt. He was driving a white, four-door Ford, possibly a Taurus, according to the news release.
