Passenger killed in suspected drunken driving crash in northwest Fort Worth
(Updated at 2:50 p.m. to correct which vehicle the victim was riding in)
A passenger died in a traffic crash in northwest Fort Worth on Sunday evening, and the driver of the vehicle faces an intoxication manslaughter charge, officials said.
The crash happened in the 5200 block of Boat Club Road about 8:30 p.m.
Seth Lyde Esquivel, 34, of Fort Worth, was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital, where he died of blunt force injuries about two hours later, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.
Esquivel was riding in a car with Natalie Zembrod, 22, who was driving north on Boat Club Road, said officer Brad Perez, police spokesman. When Zembrod came to a right-hand curve, she lost control of her car, skidding sideways and crashing into a southbound vehicle.
The southbound vehicle struck the passenger side of Zembrod’s vehicle, Perez said.
Zembrod was arrested on the intoxication manslaughter charge, a second-degree felony, according to a police report.
Police were still investigating Monday.
