Intermittent rain fell Saturday across North Texas, graced by an occasional appearance of the sun, but any lingering storms should be gone by Sunday afternoon, clearing the way for a couple of days of sunny skies and springlike temperatures.

“We still have a chance of rain entering [Sunday] morning but it looks like it will be partly sunny in the afternoon,” said Jesse Moore, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Come Monday and Tuesday, “it looks like we will have pretty nice weather,” Moore said.

Rainfall totals at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport only measured a trace through Saturday afternoon, giving North Texas 8.99 inches for the year, which is 1.81 inches above normal and 6.86 inches more than we had received by this time last year.

Forecasts call for Sunday’s high to reach 70, increasing to 77 on Monday and 80 on Tuesday. Lows each day should be in the 50s.

A slight chance of rain will resurface Wednesday and Thursday before the weather clears for next weekend.

“But then there’s a chance again for next Sunday,” Moore said.
