North Texans getting a break from hot, humid weather
Remember Saturday with all that humidity and a heat advisory?
It won’t be around Sunday.
A cold front has arrived, bringing with it some dryness and cooler temperatures Sunday. And some residents got showers and thunderstorms Sunday morning. There’s still a slight chance of rain Sunday evening in Tarrant County.
“Pretty much most of the activity of showers and thunderstorms will be south of here to the Waco and Austin areas,” meteorologist Eric Martello said Sunday in a telephone interview. Martello is with the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth.
The best weather news on Sunday is the cooler temperatures. It was 96 degrees on Friday at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, and 92 on Saturday, according to the NWS office in Fort Worth. Add the humidity, and everyone in North Texas was sweating on Friday and Saturday.
But forecasters are calling for the high temperature Sunday of 84 degrees and the humidity will not be as high.
Daytime temperatures will stay in the 80s for the rest of the week and residents should wake up to temperatures in the upper 60s this week.
Slight rain chances stay in the forecast for the next several days, according to the NWS.
The next best chance of rain for Tarrant County should be late Wednesday and Thursday when rain chances increase to 40 to 50 percent.
